Disappointed!!!
After looking at the bank-in slip for my bonus, my heart dropped, less than 1 month!
The most disappointed part is when I was told only RM50 of increment for this year!
I take this as my "report card" for the year 2008. That means my work for 2008 did not worth even a month of bonus. And my performance is only worth RM50 of increment.
I'm really very VERY very disappointed!

Chinese New Year Mythology
According to tales and legends, the beginning of Chinese New Year started with the fight against a mythical beast called the Nian or "Year" in Chinese. Nian would come on the first day of New Year to devour livestock, crops, and even villagers, especially children.
To protect themselves, the villagers would put food in front of their doors at the beginning of every year. It was believed that after the Nian ate the food they prepared, it wouldn’t attack any more people.
One time, people saw that the Nian was scared away by a little child wearing red. The villagers then understood that the Nian was afraid of the color red. Hence, every time when the New Year was about to come, the villagers would hang red lanterns and red spring scrolls on windows and doors. People also used firecrackers to frighten away the Nian.
From then on, the Nian never came to the village again. The Nian was eventually captured by Hongjunlaozu, an ancient Taoist monk. The Nian became Hongjunlaozu's mount.

Very busy...
Our new housing scheme's launching on this coming Saturday. That's mean: no more half day working for Saturday!
I'm busying with the newspaper advertising, preparing supplier name list for advertising, and contact the artist for any correction on the advertisement. Now, we need to prepare invitation cards to invite suppliers to our launching. That's really a lot of works need to do before the launching.

High heels fever
Auntie's new home
My auntie in Kuantan had bought a new condominium at around RM280,000.00 last year. It is located at the 4th floor. It comes with a free parking place and additional parking place at RM10,000.00 each. The price of the condominium is now rising up to RM360,000.00 recently.
The properties in Kuantan are more costly, compared to properties in Ipoh. With RM280,000.00, we are able to buy a Semi-Detached house in Ipoh!
But I like staying at a condominium, small and windy. Hubby do not like it, he prefers houses with some space.
Anyway, I had been searching around to get my auntie some idea on her house decorations. We went Ikea last holiday, getting some idea on the furniture. She had been getting the floor plan from the developer to add-on some electrical points and water points to her new home. We also went to search for lighting, bathroom basins and kitchen sinks, which need to be handed over to the developer for fixture during the construction.
Wow, there are really a lot of works to do before moving in to a new home! But still, it is enjoyable!
Happy Sunday
My job for today is to clean-up the house and do some washing!
Happy Sunday!

Home in the graveyard?
~News quoted from Sin Chew Daily~
Have you ever thought of living in a graveyard?
There is a Malay wooden house built in front of three graves at Jalan Langgar, Kedah. After some graves were removed in recent years, the family even expanded the house to accommodate the increasing number of the family members.
The old house owner told Sin Chew Daily that he has been living here for over 50 years and his children keep staying here with him even after they have got married, expanding the family into four households of 14 people.
Every year, descendants of the three graves buried in 1970s would visit the tombs. The owner's wife said that as they are living in a Chinese graveyard, they are very clear with the Chinese tomb visiting custom during Qingming festival. The family would therefore clean the surrounding area before the festival every year to avoid embarrassment when descendants of the deceased were there.
Descendants of the deceased said nothing about the expansion of their house. Instead, they asked us to take care of the tombs, said the house owner.
Could you believe it? I don't think I could have the bravery to live with the deceased!

What you see isn't what you'll get!
Three of us were in Greentown, wanted to go Greentown Corner, but closed. Then we decided to go Old Town Kopitiam for the drink. Before we reached Old Town Kopitiam, passing by a coffee shop, and Terrence was attracted by those desserts on the menu in front of the shop. So, we went in and sit ourselves.
I got a joke for the day. Actually, it's normal to me snapping photos everywhere. I had took a photo for the shop name once I sat down, snaped a photo for our drinks and ice-cream before I gave the ice-cream menu a snap. The waiter came immediately after he saw me taking pictures with the menu asking me what I would do with the picture!
What do you think I would do?

What is the lucky color for 2009?
For the year 2009, the 5 yellow occupies the North sector of any building corresponding from 337.5° to 22.5°.
Avoid anything that is red in color or open burning flame in this sector because fire will strengthen the earth energy of 5 yellow.
Place round golden yellow color objects such as golden CDs in this sector or the traditional 5-element pagoda in this sector to exhaust the earth energy of the 5 Yellow.

Busy day
But anyway it's better to be busy than being free and nothing to do all day long. Sometimes I'll day-dream when I'm really free. I always dreamed that I could have a mac notebook and install Solitaire for mac to play with. I have never played a mac solitaire. May be I might take the risk of bringing the notebook back to office to fill my free time also!
