Half an hour of Piranha

Hubby told me he wanted to watch the Piranha days before. I have made an online booking with TGV. RM10 per seat and an additional online booking fee made up to a total of RM21.00 for the movie on Tuesday. It is a nice seating place at the last row since I have made the booking early.

We arrived at Jusco on time for the movie. While seated, people walking pass our back (we were on the last row). I heard some of them discussing why the theater was warm. I didn't bother much until half an hour after the movie started. I felt stuffy and even sweating. I also smelt the bad smell of shoes!

I could not tolerate with the warm, stuffy and smelly environment. I walk out to ask. And only when I asked that I realized that the staffs are already aware of that! They told me the cinema's air-cond compressor had broken down few weeks ago!

Gosh, they are selling tickets with normal price without informing customer about the fact that there is NO air-cond throughout the whole cinema!!! Imagine how you feel when your car and home air-cond compressor broken down, when only hot air coming out from the air-cond!

Being told that the air-cond compressor is malfunctioning, I rolled my eyes big and look at them. Following that, they told me I can have my tickets refund. Well, at least they refund. I went back into the theater, discuss with hubby. At last, we decided to get the refund. Hey, we do not need to pay to suffer!!!

We asked for refund at the ticket counter, the staff needed to ask for permission to do so from their supervisor and came back refunded me RM20. I request to see the supervisor since it was not fully refund - RM21. It is just RM1 difference but I bothered by the fact that the cinema still selling tickets even though the air-cond was not functioning!!! When the supervisor came, he pay me back the difference immediately. Clever him, or else I will be writing my complain letter to the TGV headquarter now!

I think they need to change their seats to a more fashionable western furniture style since they are now starting to get smelly!

Shrek Forever After

Hubby and I went cinema to watch Shrek Forever After yesterday night. After such a long time never go TGV Jusco Ipoh, it had turned cleaner. At least no smell at the walk-way going out after the movie.

If you are yet to watch the movie, I tell you, it is a must to watch! This cartoon is really funny, we almost laugh from start to end. No bluffing!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year for the year 2010 is coming to an end soon! All of us had been having our sweet time enjoying the holidays. Our shop had reopened yesterday, as such my blog will also reopen! lol

As usual, on the first day of CNY @ my chinese birthday, we will go out early in the morning for breakfast, and go back home waiting for our relatives to come.

God of prosperity on the street - asking for donation!
Mean while, we'll start our once-a-year gambling! I lost RM10 with 20cents each game! No luck for this year, I'll remind myself not to go for casino for this whole year!

Gambling!!!
When my mum was here with us, we will celebrate my birthday on this day. I will have a big big cake with my name on top, and my mum will cook curry chicken, fried chicken/nugget/hotdog, fried mee/mee hun. Since she passed on, this event had been skipped. :(. How I hope she is here with me!

My Digital SLR

Nikon D3000 - my new camera!

Hubby bought me a DSLR as a gift... erm for my pregnant Christmas gift - an early gift! I have been dreaming for it long long time ago. And now my wish comes true!

When hubby and I went to Australia, we saw many tourists holding a DSLR, even girls are holding one! We are wondering what's so great about this "big thing"?

So we try to find out when we are back in Malaysia. What's the different between our small digital compact camera with the Digital SLR?

When we were in Gold Coast, I tried to snap a picture at the night market and got scolded, all because my camera's flash light which caught the stall's owner attention! When it comes to a DSLR, it need not a flash light on at night, just increase the ISO will do, so not easy to be discover when we were to snap photos at night!

Look at the picture below, with a DSLR, we can show the movement nicely where our small camera cannot.

Picture with movement

Aperture has a big impact upon depth of field. Large aperture will decrease depth of field while small aperture will give you larger depth of field. Adjustment of the aperture will give us the below effect.

Pictures with different aperture

There are many functions hidden in this Digital SLR camera. I'm still on my way discovering!

Gambang Water Park

We went to Gambang Water Park on Sunday morning too. It was located at Gambang, Pahang, about half an hour from Kuantan.

It was very crowded when we arrived. Hubby and my cousin went for a long queue to buy tickets while my uncle, auntie and I went walking around. The surrounding is very nice and windy.

When we were inside the water park, we decided not to play water (we didn't even bring any clothes or towels!). Sited himself at the food court, my uncle waiting for us queuing to buy food. However, we only realized that we need to buy voucher from another counter to buy food in the food court!!! As such, we just forget about it, walking away from the food court without food! LOL

We stayed there for an hour before going home.

My Fm in Ipoh

I just came back from Perak Girl School after attending to the My Fm show. Hubby is busy with his work, no time for me. So I brought another friend who is initially asking me to help out making bread in his house. For sure, we left no time for bread making after watching the show! LOL

A Proton Persona is parked inside the hall and the DJs are playing games with the Proton Persona. Yes, you get me right, they are playing games with the car. After all this program sponsored by Proton Persona, sure everything goes around Proton Persona!

They gave out handphone, notebook, camera and also air-cond set to lucky draw winners. We have no luck winning any though.

I was wondering, since this program is proudly sponsored by Proton Persona, how come they don't have a Proton Persona as the grand prize for lucky draw? LOL

This is the only photo I took (with handphone). *silly me* I took out my camera without memory card trying to snap photo!

Transformers in Penang

Hubby and I were so lucky to see the Transformers road show in Penang coincidentally yesterday. The exhibition of Transformers was held in the Queensbay Mall. There were lots of Transformers mini models being showed. I'm not fans of Transformer but have to take a look since we were there!

Our "new" bicycle

Our "new" bicycle

This is our "new" bicycle after some "renovation work" done by my father in law!

It's previously owned by hubby, my father in law bought it with RM700 about 10 years ago. Just few months ago, hubby brings it out again and we cycle together in the evening by buying another new bicycle.

These days, after some leg injury to my father in law, he is not advice to climb the Menglembu mountain as he would do almost every morning the past few years. So he decided to cycle around doing some exercise.

And there comes the "renovation works"!!!

The Closing Ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games

The 2008 Olympic is finally coming to an end on 17th Aug 2008. It's too bad that I could not watch it live on television. I'm on my way back from Kuantan on that time!

Luckily I found some of the photos online which could let me have a look on the closing ceremony's interesting happening.

Olympics Opening Ceremony

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" is filled with Beijing's hospitality and hopes, and carries the city's commitment to the world.
Fuwa will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace -- and good wishes from China -- to children all over the world. They are designed to express the playful qualities of five little children who form an intimate circle of friends, Fuwa also embody the natural characteristics of four of China's most popular animals -- the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow -- and the Olympic Flame.

08.08.08, a good day for all Chinese, and it's surely memorable as today will be 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Day. I bet the streets will be cleared of cars and peoples tonight. I'm sure everybody are eagerly waiting in front of the television by 8pm. Are you one of them?
