Bak Kut Teh dinner

Hubby and I went Menglembu for our dinner. My ex-colleague recommended us there long long time ago, we never go and try until the last Sunday. We dropped by for breakfast after mountain climbing. I tell you, must try! The food is delicious!

While my FIL and MIL went dinner with their friends, hubby and I drive all the way to Menglembu again! The shop is located near Falim, Desa Rishah (I think), just beside the main street.

The above dishes are most recommended by me!

I got caught by the boss when I'm busy snapping photos *argh*. According to the boss, they have all their dishes tested and obtained certificates from our govt. hospital. Wow, I'm surprised to hear this!

Anyway, with or without the cert, I'll go for it again!

A dead bird in the water tub

Hubby's screaming sound came out of our toilet when he was bathing the day before. The door of the toilet opened following that. Hubby told me he was shocked to see a bird died in our water tub, floating on the water! Arggghh!

Our bathroom

Our bathroom is almost tightly sealed. The window has mosquito net and the door is closed. The only way the bird may came in is through the exhaust fan. If you have an exhaust fan at home, you may notice that the outer side of it is closed with covers when the exhaust fan is switched off!

Thus this poor bird is suspected to flip up the outer cover of the exhaust fan to enable itself to come into our bathroom, thinking to build a nest. The bird accidentally wet its wings when it felt thirsty, trying to drink water from our water tub. Poor little thing, drown in our water tub!

Change new car?

Hubby's dream car - Toyota Camry

Toyota Camry - Hubby's dream car! Ya, hubby has been dreaming about it since we bought Toyota Vios. Sure you all ask, "then why you buy Vios instead of Camry?". Let me tell you, it's all because of the price, Camry is double the price of a Vios!

Our Vios is 3 years old now. Hubby's hand felt itchy already, always talking about the new Toyota Camry - how spacious, how comfortable, how nice to own a Camry in white, etc.

My in-laws too asked hubby to go ahead buying the Toyota Camry! I on the other hand, do not agree to change our car, I would prefer to change to a Toyota Alphard (only when I have at least 2 kids born).

The car I prefer - Toyota Alphard

Toyota Camry or Toyota Alphard?

Ambank credit card cash back???

I believe many of you may have heard about this promotion held by Ambank. It seems attractive to most of us.

Hubby owns a Ambank Islamic credit card all along but we seldom use it, we mostly use Maybank Petronas credit card for its 5x petrol treat points. Since this promotion on, we change to use Ambank credit card every Wednesday for petrol.

Ambank credit card cash back FAQ's answer:
  • Cash Back is a cash rewards program offering cash rebates of up to 10% on petrol and groceries purchases exclusively for AmBank Credit Cardmembers / AmIslamic Bank Cardmembers.
  • 10% on total purchase on petrol / groceries on every Wednesday; 5% on total purchase on petrol / groceries on everyday except Wednesday.
  • The cash rebate is calculated based on minimum spend of RM100 at hypermarkets/supermarkets and RM50 on petrol brands stated from May 1 – Aug 31, 2009, and is awarded for each spend block of RM50 on Petrol and RM100 on groceries. It is further subject to a maximum pool of RM100,000 per month. The cash rebate will be credited in the immediate month’s credit card statement.
We got our monthly statement today, I checked and found that not even 1 cent rebated from Ambank! I was so furious! I called and asked. According to them, Ambank total monthly cash rebate payout is RM100,000, our bill didn't get the rebate because it had probably over RM100,000 paid. But even the transaction on 1st July didn't get any rebate! Why? Why? Why? Cheat one!!!

I'd better cancel the credit card, can avoid the purse lost frill also!

Perak Sultan's morning walk

I've successfully snap a photo of the Perak Sultan *sweat*. Luckily the police men didn't found out and fine me for doing that!

Perak Sultan is the one with black trousers, white long sleeve shirt and a black cap.

Morning walk with Perak Sultan

Hubby and I finally able to make our way to Polo Ground for a morning walk. We arrived at Polo Ground by 7am.

We were shocked by the view of peoples who already jogging there. Lots of people are there for morning walk, running and exercising. Ranging from young to old ages!

Hubby told me Perak Sultan was there too. He noticed Sultan's car, his body guard's car and some police motors parked there. After a round of walking, hubby pointed out that Perak Sultan was walking in front of us. And yes, I saw Perak Sultan in person with 5 body guards walking just side to side with us!

For sure, hubby and I walked faster than him and his guards. He is already quite old - around 70+.

Let's see if I could meet with Perak Sultan again tomorrow!

Dim Sum Breakfast

It was raining early in the morning, I woke up with disappointment, failing to go for jogging again! So, I was like *ting* thought of going for a dim sum breakfast.

Fu San is most famous for dim sum in Ipoh and their new restaurant had moved to the dim sum street with it grandly and gorgeously renovated. The new Fu San had start operating around a week (I think!), hubby and I never dare to go as the people there are like going for "free-eating", crowds and crowds of them are waiting for seats and traffic jammed around Fu San!

Finally, we can easily found a nice place near the entrance today. Eating with morning breeze! A good starting for the day! My father in-law, grandpa in-law and grandma in-law joining us for the breakfast too!

Hubby enjoying dim sum!

Delicious dim sum! Want to eat?

Hazy spell due to hotspots in Sumatra

"The brief hazy spell experienced by Klang Valley residents yesterday was not caused by local fires but by hotspots from Sumatra, Indonesia." Quoted from The Star.

The haze is back though the spotlight's in Klang Valley, but the air condition in Ipoh is also affected. Last night, the haze had came to my neighborhood too! As such, hubby and I had canceled our plan to jog at Polo Ground this morning.

I was wondering, how come the haze always comes from Indonesia? Can't Indonesia's gov do something to this matter? Can't our gov do something to prevent? Can we sue Indonesia for creating such unhealthy haze FREQUENTLY?

**Important** Happened in Penang

I received the below e-mail, not sure if it is true but please be alert!

This is pretty scary, as is (its modus operandi is similar) with the case of Ms Canny Ong.

A friend stopped at a pay-at-the-pump gas station to get gas. When she had filled her gas tank after paying at the pump and about to leave, the attendant inside came over the speaker. He told her that something happened with her card and that she needed to come inside to pay. The lady was confused because the transaction was completed and approved. She told him that and was getting ready to leave but the attendant once again urged her to come in to pay or else. She proceeded to go inside and started arguing with the attendant about his threat. He told her to calm down and to listen carefully:

He told her that while she was pumping gas, he saw a guy had slipped into the back seat of her car and hid on the other side. He had called the police. She immediately became scared and looked out there in time to see her car door open and the guy slip out.

The story went that it has to do with a test for the new gang initiation thing which requires one to bring back a woman's body part. One way they are doing this is crawling into girls/women's cars while the target is pumping gas or at the grocery store at night time. Then, they will cut off the victim's legs/ankles to disable them in order to kidnap them, and later kill and dismember them. The other method is slipping into unattended cars and kidnapping the women for the same purpose.

Ladies, be extra careful when going into your parked car at night.

Do not park at lonely or secluded places at any time of the day for the sake of free parking!

If at all possible, don't drive alone at night!

This is real! Kidnapping! Murder! Dismemberment! These are all happening here in Malaysia !!!

The message:
  1. ALWAYS lock your car doors, even if you're gone for just a second.
  2. Check underneath your car when approaching it for re-entry, and check in the back before getting in.
  3. Always be aware of your surroundings and other individuals in your general vicinity, particularly at night!
Beware, my friends!

Shop till I drop?

During the past Jusco member day, I'm supposed to shop till I drop but NO! We only bought few things and all belongs to hubby. I found nothing to buy!

Hubby had bought 5 pcs of shirt (as shown in photo) and 2 packs of under garments. That is it! No others!

The shirt hubby's wearing is bought from Jusco on its member day.

Jusco Ipoh member day

Jaya Jusco is having member day on 8th July and 9th July, a bit special for this year, a two days instate of one day member day.

Hubby and I cleverly went there last night to "reserve" the items we want, so that we wouldn't need to search within the crowd. There are really having great sale! Must go and see if you are in Ipoh!

I think Jusco is probably very very crowded by now. Hubby and I will only go there to pick up our things tonight!

Hubby and I were again left alone to have our dinner. We went to a small restaurant near First Garden then. The shop is quite full but their food are nice and cheap, so we wait!!!

Playing photo taking with our handphone!

Delicious dishes we ordered!

Donate some money?

I'm not sure whether this is a economic down-turn effect, but within these few weeks. Our shop often had quite a lot strangers coming in, what I mean is those coming in with no good intention!

Some of them claimed "no money for lunch", others claimed "no money to pay bus fare", and even some looks very likely are from charity society with photos and brochures!

Most of them come at lunch time, when everyone gone for lunch. Almost most of them making a u-turn back to our shop after walking pass (to observe), making sure only one of us is in the shop.

The most "memorable" case is: One day, when a man walked pass, saw only my FIL doing his job inside our shop. He make a u-turn, came into our shop. Then only he noticed that hubby is there sitting behind of a column doing other things and I was sitting in front of my laptop behind the wall. He then simply find "something" to ask for. He asked for a 1 inch sponge, cut in to a square shape (just like the one he saw beside the table). Then he paid RM3.50. And he said he don't want that sponge, give it back to us! But the thing is HE PAID AND TAKE NOTHING! And he walked quickly rushing away. The whole scene only took about 3 minutes!!!

Beware, my friends! These are the way "some" people acting to earn some extra money in these days!
