Mission succeeded!!!

Hurray!!!

Hubby's never disappoint me! He succeeded in pursuing his father letting us going to Kuantan.

My father in law and mother in law are not going to follow us, they say not much place to go in Kuantan, they scared of boredom.

Around 3pm, hubby and I are going off starting our trip to Kuantan!

No traveling during Labour day?

As planned earlier, hubby and I will be going to Kuantan to find my auntie. My father in law and mother in law are to follow us there to find relative also.

But once my father in law gets know that I'm pregnant, he doesn't allow all of us to travel. According to him, the road to Kuantan is very bumpy, and I have a previous record of miscarriage (a very very early miscarriage). And so, the trip is going to be cancel and we will be staying at home during this holiday.

I tried to search the internet on "travel during early pregnancy", but no information regarding the restriction on traveling in car during early pregnancy!

I'm luring hubby to talk to my father in law in order to let us go Kuantan. My auntie and cousin are not to be back to Ipoh, since my cousin is going to sit in SPM end of the year, I'm sure they are boring being always stay in Kuantan. Normally they'll come back to Ipoh every school holiday. And most of all, I miss them a lot!

Hopefully hubby succeed in his mission!

What is Swine influenza?

Swine influenza (also swine flu) refers to influenza caused by any strain of the influenza virus endemic in pigs (swine). Strains endemic in swine are called swine influenza virus (SIV).

Swine flu is common in swine and rare in humans. People who work with swine, especially people with intense exposures, are at risk of catching swine influenza if the swine carry a strain able to infect humans. However, these strains rarely are able to pass from human to human. Rarely, SIV mutates into a form able to pass easily from human to human. The strain responsible for the 2009 swine flu outbreak is believed to have undergone such a mutation.

In humans, the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort. The strain responsible for the 2009 swine flu outbreak in most cases causes only mild symptoms and the infected person recovers fully in a few days.

New swine flu

The news about swine flu are hot these days, as it is a serious new illness which could spread on a tremendous speed!

New swine flu infections were found around the world on Tuesday and the specter of a pandemic hit the travel industry as governments warned people to stay away from Mexico where 149 people have died.

The World Health Organization said a pandemic - a global outbreak of a serious new illness - is not yet inevitable but that all countries should prepare for the worst, especially poorer developing nations.

Beware of this new swine flu!!!

Long holiday ends

After our journey to Sydney, Gold Coast and Langkawi, I'm really getting exhausted.

Hubby fell sick once we came back from Langkawi. It has been a few days since hubby sicked. He is down with fever in the beginning, following by flu and cough, and finally he is now having sore throat.

I'm lucky that have not fall sick *touch wood*, but I'm very tired recently.

Anyhow, holiday ends and life has to go on. We need to work hard, save money and plan for the next trip!

Turning Garbage Into Detergents

Everyone is frugal during economic downturn. There are so many ways to save money, and it is now a trend for housewives to turn garbage into environmental friendly enzymes that could be used as fertilizer, detergent and disinfectant.

Let's try to DIY.

Use of environmental friendly enzymes:
  • Multipurpose detergent: Can be used to clean bathrooms, kitchens, water troughs, pools, leather goods, carpets, cars, shoes, wash basins and refrigerators. They can also be used to bathe pets.
  • Pesticide: Can be used to replace chemical pesticides.
  • Air freshener: Can be used to reduce exhaust and toxic gases; friendly bacteria will distribute citrus smell.
  • Disinfectant: Can be used to kill harmful micro-organisms.
  • Fertilizer: Does not affect fruit quality but makes them more crunchy without chemical side effect.
Ingredients to make environmental friendly enzymes:
  • 1 kg Brown sugar
  • 3 kg fresh fruit residue/ fresh fruit skin
  • 10 litre water
Notes:
  • There must be room in the container for fermentation.
  • The containers must be stored in cool place.
  • Enzymes that are successfully fermented are yellow in colour. There will be a layer of friendly bacteria on the top which is white or brown in colour and it distributes pleasant citrus smell; if the enzymes turn black, it means the fermentation has failed. But you may add in some brown sugar to start the fermentation process again.
  • Do not worry about the stink during the fermentation process, just cover the container well.
  • The container could be a porcelain, pottery or plastic barrel.
  • Do not use paper, plastic, metal cans and bottles as the ingredients.

I can only use one word to describe our Langkawi trip - HOT. It's out of my imagination, this place is really hot, I don't know how people could survive under this kind of weather!!!

Overall, we didn't visit much places. The famous land mark of Langkawi - Eagle Square, which we visited at the night time leaded by the local tour guild, I can hardly snap a proper photo with the darken surrounding.

The Langkawi trip ended fast that I'm happy to be back to our own house, I never know that our room is such a wonderful place to sleep.....

Dream Home in Arizona

The State of Arizona is a state located in the southwestern region of the United States. It is best known for its desert landscape, which is rich in xerophyte plants such as cactus.

It is also known for its climate, which presents exceptionally hot summers and mild winters. November through February are the coldest months with temperatures typically ranging from 4–24 °C. The summer months of June through September bring a dry heat ranging from 32–48 °C.

I had come across SFP, which is specialist in Arizona real estate services. The properties are really attractive, I can't help falling in love with them, but I don't think I can survive in that kind of weather!

It's previously owned by hubby, my father in law bought it with RM700 about 10 years ago. Just few months ago, hubby brings it out again and we cycle together in the evening by buying another new bicycle.

These days, after some leg injury to my father in law, he is not advice to climb the Menglembu mountain as he would do almost every morning the past few years. So he decided to cycle around doing some exercise.

And there comes the "renovation works"!!!

A touching scene

Hubby and I bring Ah Ma (Grandma) to KFC yesterday night for dinner. Arriving at KFC, hubby and I went to queue for the food while Ah Ma sitting down at a table near the corner which just a glass of distance from outside.

Once the food is ready, we took them back and when I'm going to have my seat, I saw an Indian boy in front of the glass, asking me to give him some food by using his hand signal. I was quite shocked and felt uncomfortable by his act. I just ignored him (hard hearted?), continue with my food.

Mean time, I noticed that there are a total of 3 Indian boy aged around 6 to 12 are paddling outside KFC asking for food from the passerby. I see some of them are giving them some money.

One Indian couple carrying a kid in hand asked in detail with one of the Indian boy whom was begging him for food and I think they are going to buy them food. So I observed, and finally, the couple take away 3 large drinks and a box of fried chicken (hubby and I were still thinking that they are much unpossible to buy them food but we were wrong!!!), they give the food to the kids. And the couple carrying their own food to be having inside the restaurant, went upstairs.

It was just a waste that I didn't bring my camera along, or I may have taken down this memorable scene!

Happy April Fools' Day

cool myspace layouts

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, although not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, enemies, and neighbors, or sending them on fool's errand, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible.

The origin of April Fools' Day is obscure. One likely theory is that the modern holiday was first celebrated soon after the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar; the term referred to someone still adhering to the Julian Calendar which it replaced.

In many pre-Christian cultures May Day (May 1) was celebrated as the first day of summer, and signaled the start of the spring planting season. An April Fool was someone who did this prematurely.

Another origin is that April 1 was counted the first day of the year in France. When King Charles IX changed that to January 1, some people stayed with April 1. Those who did were called "April Fools" and were taunted by their neighbors.

In the eighteenth century the festival was often posited as going back to the times of Noah. An English newspaper article published on April 13th, 1789 said that the day had its origins when he sent the raven off too early, before the waters had receded. He did this on the first day of the Hebrew month that corresponds with April.

A possible reference to April Fools' Day can be seen in the Canterbury Tales (ca 1400) in the Nun's Priest's tale, a tale of two fools: Chanticleer and the fox, which took place on March 32nd.
